Anita S – Education (Balgaum, India)
Anita, is a 45-year-old woman and a mother of 3 children. she resides in a village in Belgaum district of Karnataka. she has a household size of 5 members. she does coolie work and she makes an amount of $214 a month. With this money she is not able to afford her children’s educational expenses.
Her daughter is currently in grade 10 and this loan will help Anita to cover her daughter’s school fee and other educational expenses. She and her family are thankful for this support.
This loan was provided through Mahila Abhivrudhi Maththu Samrakshana Samsthe (MASS), founded in 1987, a membership organization for Devadasi women in Belgaum, Karnataka. Its vision is: to eradicate the Devadasi system, and empower exploited women trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation under the guise of the Devadasi practice.
